Who we Are
Jamie Kearney
Massage Therapist, Craniosacral Therapist, Somatic Coach
My interest in Bodywork and Somatic Coaching started in 2009, when I attended the Kripalu School of Massage and began extensive training as a Craniosacral Therapist. I have continued to study and practice various methods of manual therapy, coaching and facilitation since then and my commitment to continuing education is ongoing. I have been in private practice as a Healing Artist since 2013, and have also gained a great deal of experience working in Spas, Wellness Collectives, and Professional Development Organizations as a trainer and facilitator. (you can read more about my history and training on my website)
On a practical level, I help people to relieve and neutralize chronic pain and patterns of tension in their bodies. I also assist people in recovering from injuries and acute pain and mobility issues. I enjoy collaborating with a larger care team on behalf of this, and will often coordinate with healthcare specialists to make sure people get their optimal treatment outcomes.
On a deeper level, I work with people who are moving from one phase of life to another. These may be changes of relationship or career, personal values, home and location, or changes related to aging and health. Very often an injury or painful condition will bring someone in to see me, and as we address this, we can also explore and tend to the life situations that have reinforced the pain.
I use a combination of Deep Tissue Massage, Craniosacral therapy, Structural Integration, and Myofascial Release to facilitate lasting change in the soft tissues of the body. I have used these methods for 17 years, and I have great confidence in how effectively they can provide relief and open up new possibilities for clients. Physically, I see knots in the fabric of muscle and soft tissue as adaptations to life. While my work strives to untie those knots, it also involves guiding the body toward more effective, free, and meaningful ways of moving and responding.
By bridging Bodywork and Somatic Change, my goal is to help people heal and care for their bodies while addressing the larger contexts that have kept them stuck. Tending to these issues in our work together not only leads to pain relief, increased mobility and wellbeing; It also helps people to meet the needs, challenges, and opportunities of their lives more effectively.
I recently moved to the Seacoast to live with my partner, after being in Vermont for 15 years. I am excited to begin connecting with the amazing community here, and to support people in bringing more freedom and fullness to their lives
